17:00: Take part in the daily cooking with your host and learn from the masters how to make special Vietnamese food from the countryside.
Enjoy dinner and stay overnight with your local family (simple facilities, without own bathroom)

Day 2: Homestay – Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast in the early morning, you go bike riding with your tour guide through the village to see the area, river, rice paddies, and experience the morning life in the countryside. You can make stops upon your request to take pictures and learn how to plant/cut rice (if you come in time for growing or cutting rice).

Arriving Thay pagoda – a beautiful one built in the 11th century where people worship Tu Dao Hanh, a monk of the Ly Dynasty who hailed from Lang Village (Hanoi) and was endowed with supernatural powers. This pagoda is also the motherland of the famous Water Puppetry. From here you can see the pagoda on the side of a mountain, surrounded by trees and representations of three incarnations of monk Tu Dao Hanh. A wooden statue is from the period when the monk led his life for Buddhism at Huong Hai Temple, where he found wild leaves to make medicine for residents and initiated water-puppet entertainment.

Depending on your energy, you can trek up the mountain to discover Cac Co Cave which is located not too far behind the pagoda. A hole in the dome of Cac Co Cave lets you see outside the cave.

We continue riding our bikes and explore more of the countryside on the way back to the homestay.

A Vietnamese lunch will be served in your homestay when back from explorations.

Take a nap or enjoy free time until pick up and transfer back to Hanoi city.
The trip ends at your hotel in Hanoi around 17:00.

(B: breakfast; L: lunch; D: dinner)
